Points to note when using IC cards
Below is an overview of points to note about Tokyo Institute of Technology IC cards. See Tokyo Institute of Technology IC Card Rules and Regulations (PDF) for details.
How the Tokyo Institute of Technology gives out IC cards
Giving IC cards to people other than the intended recipients can compromise even the strongest authentication systems. Rules and regulations on PKI authentication thus stipulate that IC cards must be given only to the intended recipients. The card recipient must obtain his or her card in person at the appropriate office.
* As access cards do not have photos on them, an access card recipient needs to present an identity document (a license or passport, etc.) when obtaining his or her card.
Points to note when using the Tokyo Institute of Technology information infrastructure
Tokyo Institute of Technology IC card holders (other than building access card holders) can use the Tokyo Institute of Technology information infrastructure. Read Guidelines for Information Ethics and Security before using the information infrastructure and make sure to comply with the Tokyo Institute of Technology Informational Ethics Policy and Tokyo Institute of Technology Information Security Policy contained therein.
